€12,000 for the Expansion of the Family Adventure Trail in Hilpoltstein
DATEV Challenge Roth Athletes Donate for the Project
The Solarer Berg in Hilpoltstein is renowned among sports fans worldwide as a symbol of the city and district's passion for triathlon. To make additional highlights and historical facts about Hilpoltstein even more accessible to visitors, TEAMCHALLENGE and the athletes of the DATEV Challenge Roth have donated a total of €12,000. This contribution will fund the expansion of the family adventure trail.
Supporting Local Projects in the Triathlon Region of Roth
“As TEAMCHALLENGE, we aim to support a project in one of the triathlon region’s communities every year, focusing on initiatives that benefit the general public. Our goal is to strengthen the region and give back to the communities. The expansion of the hiking trail in Hilpoltstein is the first infrastructure project we are proud to support as part of this initiative. A heartfelt thank you to all the athletes who contributed to this donation,” said Kathrin Walchshöfer-Helneder from TEAMCHALLENGE.
The trail expansion will include a route passing directly by the Auhof experiential farm. “We have had a close relationship with the Auhof for years. During race week, many of our athletes stay there, exemplifying lived inclusion. Expanding the hiking trail brings the Auhof even closer to visitors to the city, and this is something we and the entire triathlon community are delighted to support.”
The trail expansion is expected to be completed by fall 2025. “Spring and fall are popular seasons for hiking, and we’re excited to offer guests a new attraction on our family adventure trail by next fall,” said Mareike Ibinger from the City of Hilpoltstein.
Play Equipment for the Trail Expansion
The family adventure trail was initially opened nearly a year ago. Designed for families, the 2.6-kilometer path through Hilpoltstein is suitable for all ages and is fully accessible. Along its 18 stations, visitors encounter exciting stories and tricky challenges. One station features the Burgfest Drummers, whose youth group ceremoniously opened the “Stimmungsnest” (cheering spot) at Solarer Berg this year. With the planned expansion, the trail will extend to a total of 4.7 kilometers. The donated funds will primarily be used to install play equipment as part of the extension.
Athletes participating in the DATEV Challenge Roth contributed to the fundraising. By taking part in the Late Entry Draw, each athlete donated €5 to this charitable initiative.
