2,500 euros donated to "Christmas Together”
Proceeds from the Christmas campaign for a Christmas against loneliness
As always, the very last entries for DATEV Challenge Roth powered by hep were awarded on 6 December. With each entry, athletes automatically donated 50 euros to charity. As in the previous two years, the total donation of 2,500 euros went to the “Christmas Together” project in the Roth region. Alice Walchshöfer, managing director of TEAMCHALLENGE, handed over the money to the project leaders on 10 December.
Due to the pandemic, sadly it is still not possible to come together for a communal Christmas party in Ratibor Castle. “Even if we cannot spend Christmas together on a large scale, we would still like to give people in the Roth region a little joy at Christmas,” says Anne Thümmler from “For Each Other” and the “Christmas Together” representative. “We would like to especially thank the athletes and TEAMCHALLENGE for supporting us in this."
Alice Walchshöfer is impressed by the commitment of the volunteers: “It’s amazing what the project managers do each year so people in the region do not feel lonely, and it certainly has not been easy since Corona. That is why we are very happy to continue supporting “Christmas Together”.
The project was launched in 2016. Since then, many volunteers have committed to giving everyone in the Roth region who can't afford a nice evening, don’t want to be alone at Christmas or just want to celebrate a party with other people the opportunity to enjoy a nice Christmas party. Last year, the volunteers visited people in their homes with small gifts for them and the success of this will see the campaign expanded this year.
