Bavarian Order of Merit for Grande Dame of the Roth Triathlon
Alice Walchshöfer honoured by the Bavarian Minister President
The entire DATEV Challenge Roth team can be proud of Alice Walchshöfer. The grande dame of the Roth triathlon was honoured today for outstanding services to the Free State of Bavaria and the Bavarian people with the Bavarian Order of Merit by Minister President Markus Söder in the Antiquarium of the Munich Residence.
The Bavarian Prime Minister cited her commitment to the region as the reason for the honour. "Queen Mum", as she is affectionately called by the team, has been passionately committed to DATEV Challenge Roth for decades, which has grown from its small beginnings into an important event for the entire region. Without her commitment as the soul of the event, the success of the Roth triathlon would be unthinkable. Alice Walchshöfer has been instrumental in making the event an international highlight year after year.
Alice Walchshöfer is very proud of what she has achieved: "I am deeply touched and the award means a lot to me. I would like to thank everyone who made this possible, first and foremost my two children, Kathrin and Felix, of course, but also the entire district of Roth and all the supporters of the event. It is only thanks to these people, as well as our 7500 volunteers each year, that we are able to experience a great event every year.”
High honour for people with exceptional commitment
The Bavarian Order of Merit is awarded by the Minister President every year since 1957 as recognition for outstanding services to the Free State of Bavaria and the Bavarian people.
It symbolises the outstanding commitment and extraordinary dedication of the citizens of Bavaria to the community. The number of recipients should not exceed 2,000.
