From fifth in Hawaii to Roth - Menno Koolhaas starts at DATEV Challenge Roth in 2025
The Dutchman ‘wants to overcome boundaries’
Top Dutch triathlete, Menno Koolhaas, has announced his participation in DATEV Challenge Roth 2025 on Instagram. The 29-year-old finished fifth at the World Championships in Hawaii in October 2024 and is one of the fastest athletes on the scene.
‘Looking forward to the Solarer Berg’
‘I've wanted to start at Challenge Roth for a long, long time - and the time has finally come,’ says Koolhaas about his start at the Home of Triathlon. ‘I have a personal best time of 7:35 and want to push my limits in Roth! I'm already looking forward to Solarer Berg.’
Koolhaas is currently number 20 in the PTO world rankings and triumphed at Challenge Almere in 2023, where he secured the European long-distance title. He also finished fifth at IRONMAN Germany in Frankfurt last year.
The Dutch record holder will certainly want to have his say when it comes to the top places. In addition to Koolhaas, Tom Bishop and Jan Stratmann will also be taking part in the race. TEAMCHALLENGE will announce the other top professionals for 2025 in the coming days and weeks.
