Garmin announced as new timing partner of DATEV Challenge Roth
Garmin is the new timing partner of DATEV Challenge Roth. The active tech company will significantly expand its activities around the world's biggest long-distance triathlon, which will directly benefit both the participants and the volunteers in Roth. The partnership is set to run for several years.
As part of DATEV Challenge Roth, Garmin will not only be there as a timing partner, but will also have an expo stand including all the latest Garmin innovations for visitors. In addition, Garmin will be organising a community run where participants will have the opportunity to test the products in action. Together with the community, Garmin will provide plenty of motivation during the marathon with a hotspot on the canal at the 7km/11km mark.
Perfect match between the partners
As race director of DATEV Challenge Roth, Felix Walchshöfer is proud of the new partnership: ‘Garmin always offers the highest quality for all athletes, as demonstrated by several awards and the widespread use of its products in triathlon. As a premium provider in the sports sector, Garmin is a perfect fit for the triathlon in Roth. We are delighted to have the market leader in sports watches as a partner in the Roth community.’
‘Roth and Garmin. They simply go together. The desire to constantly challenge ourselves and improve has accompanied us as a company for 35 years. We have made Beat Yesterday our claim and the athletes in Roth also follow this motto. The fact that we are part of their lives with our products and accompany them on their journey makes us proud,’ says Felix Hegar, Head of Brand Management DACH at Garmin.
Garmin enriches Volunteers’ Party
Garmin is providing high-quality products for the raffle at the traditional Volunteers' Party on the Monday after the race. In doing so, Garmin is reinforcing the importance of volunteers in sport. All triathletes will also benefit directly from the new partnership.
About Garmin:
Garmin is a leading active tech company. The company develops innovative products for people who lead an active life - from smartwatches, diving and cycling computers to cockpits for sports aeroplanes and radars for yachts. Founded in 1989 by engineer friends Gary Burrell and Min Kao in Olathe, Kansas, Garmin today stands for a broad, highly differentiated product portfolio in the outdoor, fitness, aviation, automotive and marine sectors. Around 20,000 employees in 35 countries worldwide support customers in discovering their passions and living more actively, consciously and healthily every day in line with the motto ‘Beat Yesterday’.
Garmin is represented in the DACH region with locations in Garching near Munich (D), Graz (A) and Neuhausen am Rheinfall (CH). Around 300 employees work there. The company also has its own research and development centre in Würzburg (D).
A central principle of success and the basis for the high quality is vertical integration: with a few exceptions, the development of the products and their entire technological ecosystem remains within the company - from the innovative sensor to the Garmin Connect app, from the idea, design and production through to sales and customer support.
