The pro start list at DATEV Challenge Roth 2025 is filling up with another high-calibre name: Belgian triathlete Pieter Heemeryck has officially confirmed his participation in the legendary race.
‘An experience like no other’
For the 35-year-old, Roth is a unique place where he will try to reach his full potential on 6 July. He finished 19th in 2021. He did not finish in 2023 and 2024. After his previous starts in Roth, he is looking forward to a new experience: ‘Challenge Roth: the spectators, the volunteers, the energy. It's an experience like no other. It's a special place, a special race. I'm looking forward to creating new memories.’
In 2023, he became European champion at the Ironman 70.3 in Tallinn and came second at the Ironman European Championship in Hamburg. In the same year, he won the Ironman Portugal in Cascais in 7:50:07. In 2024, Heemeryck finished third at the Singapore T100, cementing his reputation as one of the best triathletes in the world. He is currently ranked 13th in the Professional Triathletes Organisation's world rankings.
‘Unrivalled energy’
The Belgian is particularly impressed by the unique atmosphere in the Home of Triathlon: ‘The energy in Roth is unrivalled. I've already experienced it and can hardly wait to feel it again. It will certainly be another unforgettable day.’
