Roth winner wants to give it another go
Bart Aernouts lines up for the last time as a professional in Roth
At the age of 41, Bart Aernouts is taking on DATEV Challenge Roth once again. The Belgian, who won the race in 2017, will be on the start line in Roth for the third and final time as a professional, eight years after his triumph.
‘I'm really looking forward to coming back to Roth! I've experienced some great moments in my last two participations and can't wait to experience the finish line party again,’ he said.
He impressively proved that he is still one of the greats as recently as November 2024: at Ironman Cozumel, he secured victory in an incredible 7:39:24 hours, with a run time of 2:43:03 hours.
Aernouts has made a name for himself in the triathlon scene with numerous victories and podium finishes in the world's most prestigious races. In addition to his Roth victory, his outstanding second place at the IRONMAN World Championship in Hawaii in 2018, when he achieved one of the fastest times in history with an impressive running performance, is particularly memorable.
