‘Would like to experience the magic of Roth for myself’
Australian middle-distance specialist Grace Thek makes her long-distance debut at DATEV Challenge Roth 2025
Australian triathlete, Grace Thek, will take on the legendary distance of 3.8 km swimming, 180 km cycling and 42.2 km running for the first time on 6 July in Roth.
The top 10 finisher at the Ironman 70.3 World Championships has established herself as one of the strongest middle-distance athletes in international triathlon in recent years. Now she is venturing into the long distance - and deliberately at the world-famous DATEV Challenge Roth.
‘I have been watching Challenge Roth from afar for years, inspired by the history, the atmosphere and the athletes who have competed here before me. In 2025, I can’t wait to make my long-distance debut in Roth and tackle this iconic course and experience the magic of Roth for myself. See you in July!’, says Grace Thek.
She made a name for herself in the German-speaking world at Ironman 70.3 Zell am See, where she came second in 2022 and 2024. In 2023, the fast Australian won Challenge Salou and Challenge Wanaka, among others.
Spectators will find out how Grace Thek performs over the long distance on 6 July, when the HOKA athlete will be up against Nikki Bartlett and Laura Siddall, among others. TEAMCHALLENGE will announce who else in the field of top athletes will be on the starting line with Grace Thek on 27 February and in the following days.
